I spent $20 on the upgrade. I figured it was karmically fair. After spending a few hours with it, my thoughts are: it does not set the world on fire compared to an earlier version, but having everything condensed into one program is much easier. I am a reason jockey, I'll use it in my production....I am rolling lo-fi these days...a 4 year old mac mini, reason, albino, live, and whatever creative inspiration I can muster.

Got it. New devices are great. Factory Soundbank is expanded which is nice. I love how I'm using an SSL instead of the basic mixer on new projects now. I look forward to finally getting acquainted with Neptune and the other Record features, which by the looks of it appear to be rather extensive and well thought out. I found it also helps to ReRTFM to see what's going on under the hood otherwise I would've missed a bunch of stuff, which I guess is cool because you don't really have to skip a beat if you're used to older versions and don't want to get too involved with the new stuff aside from the new devices. The f5,f6,f7 buttons make navigating through devices and mixer views rather easier and more intuitive than I anticipated. Just takes a little getting used to.

Very happy here. Well worth a dollar.
