on a clip how do i make a smooth volume fade out. if i draw it's all jagged in steps.

Double click on the volume line where you want the fade to start, and double click at the end and drag it down.

Ctrl+B. Toggles between pencil and cursor.

Also I found that shift can drag the line and overwrite the automation
Handy to overwrite all my jagged automation :) :)
