Know anything about recording MIDI program changes?

Post by g-mashroom » Thu Jun 23, 2005 12:40 pm

Hi all,
I'm trying to record some MIDI program changes in Live (v4) to control my guitar preamp. I used to do it fine in Cubase but now it seems that I can't do it...
I might try creating 1-bar empty midi blocks, containg just the program change I need, but then again the whole thing wouldn't be too flexible, would it?
Any ideas on the subject? Has anyone tried it?

Thanks in advance

Yeah, me too a bit puzzled about program change usage in Live.

Use the clip subbank-program in the launch panel.

What I know is when you record in arrangment while sending pchange to your vsti the result is that the control curves for all parameters of the vsti are recorded: a nice mess for later editing. Re-changing the patch afterwards is very difficult.

Any help on that?
