Some one at a dj site made a search and the site is based in finland, Go figure.

New player? That could be interesting - the depressive weather, darkness half an year leaves little options-get drunk, go to sauna, commit suicide (Scandinavia has the world highest rate) or develop top notch music products - Clavia, Genelec, Elektron, Propellerheads, Surge....login wrote:Some one at a dj site made a search and the site is based in finland, Go figure.

EKS, the same company that put out the OTUS, is responsible for this program.

Thanks, that sounds even more promising, never tried their controllers but they are superb looking for sure.Punky921 wrote:EKS, the same company that put out the OTUS, is responsible for this program.

The One is a pretty forward thinking program, for sure. Looks like a nice mesh between DAW and DJ software. It's fuck ugly though.
Re: Anyone knows who is behind "The One" DJ software?
How many more of these types of programs do we need? As if Serato, Traktor, Virtual DJ, Itch, Mixmeister, etc, etc weren't enough.
Re: Anyone knows who is behind "The One" DJ software?
If you're actually a DJ, you will see that each package offers something different and distinct. If you're not, well, I can see how you might think that they're all the same.
Re: Anyone knows who is behind "The One" DJ software?
And if you serious there are just 2 Serato and Traktor. What is more important they are all cluttered, the biggest problem is that delivering everything possible to every DJ and in the end each user ends up with 60-80% stuff they dont need. Modular is definitely great idea, possibility to fit DJ needs, even particular type of gig. Another issue- controllers, does not matter how well they fit particular software, there comes new version and controller becomes obsolete.Punky921 wrote:If you're actually a DJ, you will see that each package offers something different and distinct. Features you don't need are easy to ignore. Features you want and you don't have is a situation that is harder to cope with.
Really, what a good digital DJ needs to learn how to do is map his own controllers so when the new shiny version of a software comes out, you can remap your controller to take advantage of it, instead of your controller suddenly becoming "obsolete"

Any are better than Live's.Punky921 wrote: It's fuck ugly though.

I actually find Live clean and elegant, especially compared to how busy some DJ program GUIs can be.

I've never got cartoon UI as elegant or clean. Of course I tried to deceive myself into thinking so but couldn't.

Could you give some example of "not ugly" software specially as compared to Ableton Live that actually many consider the most elegant software not only in professional audio category. Just curious.
