long time ableton user here.. so long that i am still rocking VERSION 5.
I recently moved from a powerbook to intel based mac (os x 10.6.
and ableton is basically useless. the MAIN issue is:
1. when i drag in a new mp3 file, there are crashes
2. when i play a new mp3 file for the first time, it crashes
3. crashes on rendering
4. some mp3s play at twice speed (when I restart after a crash, it's at twice speed and pitch - this is NOT a warping issue) and sometimes the sound quality is very low for one section of the mp3.
Is it driver issues? When i plug in my audio interface and select that as the input, sometimes the problems stops - even when i still use the same output.
Would it help if i updated ableton to version 7 or 8 and/or is there anyway to correct drivers on MAC OS that I don't understand?
