delay compensation screws up automations

Post by godd » Mon Oct 10, 2011 8:30 am

hi,

two days ago live started doing something really annoying: the vertical line in arrangement view which shows you the section that is being played is about 2 beats ahead of the section actually being played - not just now and then, but all the time :/
a major consequence is that all my automations start 2 beats too quick, because they seem to be triggered by that line instead of what's really being played. rather than learning to live with this problem and adjusting my automations i thought i'd come here, hoping that someone is familiar with this problem.

thx!

okay, just learned that the problem was caused by delay compensation. with dc deactivated the automations function as they should, but now a lot of tracks are completely out of sync... how is this possible? never had this problem before, it's like it came out of nowhere.

okay, some googling has taught me that this is just a bug inherent in live. posts relating to this problem have been made as early as 2006 in this very forum, so it should have been fixed by now!
