Re: iPad
Since they cut the cord for Syncing, the coolest way for them to update is if it happens wirelessly; automatically overnight; so all of us who don't leave our devices tethered overnight will have a nice surprise next morning.

Yes and no.
What's very popular are the requests for the next version of the Alesis iODock to actually be it's own soundcard.

BOOOO.
Is there a universal & internal method of recording output from audio-apps to some kind of documents folder ?
or does the app have to specifically implement such a thing within the app itself ?
I need answers.

Re: iPad
Reminds me; last week was the first time I plugged my itouch4g to the phono rca ins of my emu 1820m. I used 3 different brands of 1/8th to rca cables I needed to get from ipod to soundcard and got the same result from all 3:
Once I plugged the jack into myPod, an mp3 started playing (same one); without the Music app being loaded, not even with it on in the background. I figure this had to do with the electric current of my soundcard, possibly the phono jack because of the ground connection between the 1820m and turntable (which was unplugged) Awkward?
So, I exported the tracks from the app and delivered them wirelessly to my browser as intended. Still, kinda weird. It is weird that the audiotracks we copy or render aren't available (by option) to show up in the Music app. Different sort of convoluted ways to export audio out of the device when it should be simpler. Yet, audiocopy/paste is simpler, and there's 2 protocols for that...I'm sure these things will change soon.

Most instrument/sequencer apps now feature the audio copy method. Something like NLogSynthPro....you can record your output within the app itself, then paste that audio file into a sequencer app.

You should really buy an Android tablet. Much more musician friendly. And really all of life's and tech's problems can be resolved with a flash card slot. That and having folder access to everything.
Re: iPad
Prepping for iTunes 10.5 now. It's going to be sweet when I buy new tracks and they download to all my other Macs without me having to do a damn thing.

Tim Cook – “500,000 apps available in the app store with 140,000 specifically for the iPad”.
Android loving Apple hater – “Apple has a closed system and makes the app approval process too difficult”
So difficult that only 500,000 apps and counting somehow made the cut.

Apple working in concert with international delivery carriers just put my carriage before the horse. I just received my iPod Nano watch band but my Nano hasn’t been delivered yet.
