How can I control the pitch knob with the keyboard?

Hi there!

I would like to set "presets" for the knob of the pitch shifter midi effect and activate/change them with the computer keyboard.

Like this: A bassline is in the key of E. This would be "0" or middle position of the knob.
I'd like to change this to D, which is "-2". But instead of "turning" the knob, I'd like to push "s" on the computer keyboard to change the knob. Then back to the E -> press "d", etc.

How can this be done?

Changing more than one (but not all) instruments / tracks at the same time to the same key would be even better!

Insert and disable multiple instances of the Pitch effect into your midi track and give them each the appropriate semitone shift.
Disable your Computer MIDI Keyboard in the top right corner (Ctrl+Shift+K)
Enter Key Map Mode (Ctrl+K) and bind the effect on/off button of each instance to a different key.

I'm sure there is a less messy way to do it but it would let you shift easily for the meantime.

i'd use a rack with chain select mapped to the notes on your keyboard you want to use to transpose, insert 12 pitch midi fx and pitch them on all semitones

tho if you play keyboard you need to be carefull how you map that otherwise you'll hit some notes that are mapped to remote and might screw things a bit, but if you do all prerecorded stuff and use the keyboard JUST to transpose, it would probably work pretty well, like the transpose on an arranger

thinking bout it now, if you do play the keyboard, use a key split on the controller on 2 channels

I wasn't aware thyt I could keymap the on-/off-button of an effect!
Will try that later.

Meanwhile I found out that I could do almost the same with one NanoKontrol Knob...it just needs to be set coarse enough, otherwise you shift +/-127 semitones =:-[]

once you have assigned a knob of your nanokontrol you can easily set the range of this knob - while in midi-assignment-mode check the settings that appear in the browser pane. Set minimum and maximum values according to your needs, then the knob will go from 0 to 2 semitones maximum if you wish.
