Buying software advice

Post by conny » Fri Jun 24, 2005 1:10 am

This is what I have payed for so far:

Live
CloneEnsamble
Foorius
Bidule
4ormulator

I am planning to get:
Cameleon 5000 (bundle with CamelPhat and CameSpace)
Kubik and Vocal bundle
Operator
and maybe Melodyne

I use freebees like Chrystal, UDO's things, Paax sampler, SFZ etc.

I'm mostly into the experimental side of music and sound but don't feel like taking the Max/MSP way rignt now. Maybe later.

I don't have any external controllers. I'm sure some of you will say I should get some but I'm getting used to having only the laptop as hardware.

Any comments or suggestions are wellcome.

Experimental? Reaktor 5, and nothing else. Except maybe Numerology. :)
Seriously, I can't imagine needing anything other than Reaktor and a good host to make some truly out there sounds.

Hm, I could have expected that
Yes, probably.
Guess I'm reluctant to start diving into some new deep terrain at the moment.
Should try a demo version.
[Can't find that on the NI site...]

What about Synthmaker? Still in the early stages of production but there is a demo version at least?

I have Reaktor 5 and it is very impressive. You are not compelled to dive very deep in order to create some experimental sounds.

They do have academic versions (cost less) if you are a teacher or student etc

Synthedit is also great and free.
