Re: Isotonik 8 - Out Now!!

Tonight we added functionality to the Track Control encoders when in standard functionality mode (where the device encoders map to the device in focus and can be moved left and right using the arrow keys as usual)

With Pan Bank Lit the Track Control encoders map automatically to the 8 sends on the highlighted track and update when this changes, pressing the Pan Bank button without shift held will reset all the sends to zero....

Pressing shift and Send A will turn the Track Control Encoders into another set of Device Control encoders, simply press send A without shift depressed and it will copy the parameters of the currently in focus device allowing you to then move track and remain in control of the device you leave behind....

No plans as yet for Send B and C so if you've got a cool idea then please let us know, we want to suport as many different ways of DJing with Ableton as possible!

Cheers

Well we've got a floating window for the encoders but if your running things like me on a 13" screen then it's not practical to have it open all the time, and what with 10 banks of encoders it can be difficult remembering what youve got mapped to what...

So now the title of Track One reflects what the Track Control Encoders are controlling whilst the title of track two changes to show what the Device Control Encoders are in charge of....

We've got no functionality for the Track Control Encoders for Send B and C so would love some inspiration!!

Re-enabled the Scene Launch buttons and added the option of whether this will launch tracks placed in the Isotonik Master Device Track for some future planned functionality involving Dummy Clips....

Also updated the manual based on questions i've been recieving and the newest Clip Manipulation features getting their own section....

Direct download link below...

https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D162684_6643726_630025

Working on next the final buttons in the Looping Scene to allow you to manually set a loop start with first press, loop end with second press, third press will then set either the start or end depending on the clip stop button lighting, just like a CDJ, for each of the first four tracks in the clip launch rectangle.... Then we'll be in a position to record part to of the video and show off the new encoder features!

Project Four is now available, this release primarily focuses on sorting problems users were having when Isotonik mode would turn off under various operations of the APC40.... If anyone finds any different combinations please let us know here or via email, there's only so much testing we can do so we're sure there's more that you can find....

Sugarsync users will find the new file in their download folder whilst Payloadz users should use their original download link, if this has expired simply request a new one from Payloadz and a new one will be organised...!

Video of Part TWO is uploading now!!

I'd love to think they would, however there's been a number of fantastic people there who have helped me to get to this point and it's very much appreciated.....

The modular series is for any midi controller and is about to undergoe a refresh in line with the new functionality in Isotonik!

i give up... i don't understand your isotonic 8... (i don't have the light version, i have the full version)
i have watched your videos, i have read your manual.. but i don't check this complex system and the coherences between the tracks, the master module, the effects module and more
(the older version 5 or 6 was not so much difficult to understand for me..)

your videos are perhaps good but sometimes i don't understand your english accent.

i know, that's my own problem but perhaps is somebody here that can explain isotonic 8 for dummys (i'm not a DJ,
perhaps thats the reason why i don't understand this things??)

can you put a complete ableton project with some samples like in V7?

for example one of my problems: why is the first track named "Sends", the second track "One Punch FX" and if i click on the "Sends" track, the second track is called "Track One"?
and where is Track "TWO"? why do i need the Track FIVE to EIGHT? on these tracks are no Isotonik modules?

sorry, if my questions are too stupid..

As explained in the second video and the manual, the title of track one and two changes dynamically to tell you which banks the Track Control encoders and Device COntrol encoders are in control of....

In the example you've given below you track control encoders are in charge of the eight sends of whichever track is in focus, the device control encoders are in charge of the device in focus on that track, in your example they are in charge of the dj eq and effects rack called "Track One"

There is unlikely to be a dummy's guide as the template has around a hundred features, this is why we've supplied a manual and two walk through videos, there will be a french and German manual soon in addition...

The follow and pitch module is explained in the first walk through video, it performs follow actions at clip end, if you want this feature on tracks five to eight then simply copy the module across this will be at the cost of a higher CPU so those tracks are suggested to be used for one shots and loops as opposed to whole tracks....

Previous versions had samples within them and were removed at the majority of users requests as this made the download too large....

If you have further questions I'm happy to answer them here on email thelab at isotonikstudios dot com

http://www.controllerism.com/lights-but ... ctionality

Got a little write up on controllerism.com the sites recently undergone a relaunch and a few good articles have gone up, it's a less sensationalist type of approach to controllerism, one of the founders Matt Moldover was my original inspiration for starting this whole project....

Hi Darren

I am also for an additional version with samples - no disturbance to all those with lo bandwidth.

What you do in walkthrough 1 and 2 (BTW a downloadable version of the videos would help those with low bandwidth) with concrete samples would serve as an easier material to learn replicate tricks than a sample-free project.

Max 5 is not working on my machine. Getting memory issues and others with max 6.01. Yes, you warned me, max 6 is not supported.
Looks like I will need to upgrade everything to win7, and downgrade to max 5 ;)

Solid stuff as ever Darren.

Is there any easy way to exchange audio tracks for midi tracks and still keep the functionality?
I'm using a couple of midi instruments and currently I route them into FOUR which is set up as a bus.

Also, if there was a wish-list, I'd have an option to use the entire set of clip launch buttons for the isotonic functions as I launch clips from Touchable anyway.

Also I just thought of a concept album, will you max me up a button to produce it for me?

If you say yes i promise to respond with two smilie faces!! :x
