Bought Live 8 suite upgrade from Lite but won't authorise.

Hi everyone.
I got a free copy of Live Lite with my Novation keyboard. I decided to upgrade to the full Live 8 Suite. Downloaded, installed and authorised and it's still being authorised as the Novation Lite version. I had actually reinstalled OS X since having Lite on the computer so I know there are no remaining files that could be causing the problem, it's a 100% fresh install. I also tried the offline authorisation and technical support from Ableton told me to delete my Unlock.cfg files and re-authorise which didn't help either. I have replied to Ableton support to let them know that it's not working, but I haven't heard anything for a couple of days. I'd really love to get back to writing. Has anyone else here experienced a similar problem? Any help or ideas on how to fix would be very much appreciated.

Turns out this is a known issue. Here is the reply from Ableton.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for emailing Ableton.

Sorry for the oversight. There is a known issue in this case. When Live is authorized with a license that contains both smaller (Lite/Intro) and full/Suite serials, Live is unlocked as the smaller version.

The workaround is to close Live and re-start it after the authorizing process. Now the correct full/Suite version is running.
This affects customers that upgraded from Lite/Intro to a full version.

We are working on fixing this.

Anyhow, it does seem to be working now. Problem solved I guess
