How about a better forum?

Post by Grant Carlisle » Tue Oct 25, 2011 11:16 pm

Come On People!
I try to help out where i can. I find it downright ridiculous. The amount of post, in the user exchange forum or Tip & Tricks forum go unanswered.

its a little rough when the questions have been asked over and over and no one bothers to search before posting. seriously, there's a new "which USB hub do you recommend" post every week. BORING!

I understand that...Lol
It still is an easy question though. :) Maybe we should just have a Newbie forum.
While i'm not an Ableton pro Like Darren, Tom, Stray or ever Vespers. I'm not by any means a Noob either. A 100% of my post have gone unanewered. I have seen others being treated with flat out rude behavior.
(To those guys, Do you remember what it was like in the begining?)
It frustrates me, Thats all

Don't take the internet too seriously man, some people are rude just cuase they can be. I love helping people out with music related questions, but even I get sick of seeing the same questions posted all the time by people who obviously haven't even tried to look in the manual.

Me too.
Trust me, i don't take the internet too serious. I do however think there is a certin obligation for members of this board to help others members. It takes all of 2 Minutes to post a response. I'm really starting to think that a majority of people are affraid, that thier music is not as great as they would like to think.

I actually have to disagree, I don't think there's any obligation to post a response. It might only take 2 minutes, but multiply that by the dozens of new threads each day and you're looking at hours of time spent helping people, some of whom are too lazy to be obliged to use the search button or crack the manual.

It's not like the people here who like to help once in awhile are paid by Ableton to do so.

In fact, that's really not a bad idea, Ableton really needs some customer support types to chime in here and on the Answers part of the page. And NO, I am NOT volunteering :)

maybe, but i asked some questions that got ignored even tho there is no results in the search, and not even an answer at google 20th page, so people seems to just snob any questions in the help exchange forum

and it'S not a n00b question, it's pretty advanced questions from a power user

maybe but honnestly i doubt it, i read most of the forum and there are really knowledgeable people here (like you) who do ALMOST the exact same thing i needed to do(as per their posts) but still answer joke threads but give no answers in the help forum, maybe nobody reads it actually, my last question had 14 views in a week and another joke thread had 1000, so maybe nobody actually reads the user help exchange except people needing help, ie, people who know stuff rarely browse the help forum and concentrate more on other parts of the forum(actually, last question i posted NOT in the user help exchange was answered promptly and had many many views)

Some people come here for fun, to interact and relax with other people when they need a break from thinking about music. We're not required to always help people :)

I come here for fun as well...
I still don't find that it a big deal to update a thread or two.
Bottom line. Software is a pain in the ass.The majority of tracks When you've been working on a problem for 2 days or more, which happens to be pretty comon these days, especially with all the B.s. out there. It's nice to get a little feedback. Even if that feedback doesn't apply to my particular sittuation. It may help others with thier sittuation. People shouln't feel hassled by easy question.

This forum is Ableton (Newbie) Forum as title says. I'm always in Ableton (Registered User) Forum so I don't feel bothered.
