what should I buy?
Teenage OP-1 or Beat Thang (beatkangz) or a Mac book pro 17?
I have NI maschine, Korg Micro, Imac 27 i7,...I`m wanting something portable
What would you choose?
Imo, Mac Book Pro! Kinda tough taking the iMac on the road.
iMac, MacBook Pro, Ableton Live 8 Suite,Ableton PUSH Komplete 8, Logic Studio,Launchpad x 2, iPad (Lemur), M-Audio Keystudio, Akai MPD18, ...

Re: HELP !!!
If you want to produce your songs on the go, get the laptop. If you just want something fun to play with outside of the house, I'd go for one of the others - then you get both a new production tool and a neat mobile device.

Re: HELP !!!
No iPads in the queue? Portability and diversity.
with MBP in 1st place, 2nd would definitely be the OP-1. It's been on my list for awhile.
BeatThang....I'd give to my little cousin for xmas.

Re: HELP !!!
An ipad is a good shout. theres loads of amazing music apps out there and you can use it as a sketchbook.
imaschine app is a load of crap but if youve got their flagship controller you can use the imaschine for ideas on the go.
A small laptop would also be good for on the go.
Beat thang is a bit of a beast but since all the hype theres not been much about it. It's a small company so i dont see them releasing anything newer soon - jeez it took them years to get that 'thang' on the go - do technologywise it'll be behind the times in 6 months. Mind you I guess the same thing could be said for the MPC range ... been the same for years.
What about a MPC500 for some battery powered fun on the go?
I heartily recommend an ipad.

Re: HELP !!!
personally i'd go with the Macbook. the iPad is going to keep flipping. pretty soon there will be an iPad 3 and all the support and updates will shift to that. it's already happening to the gen 1 iPads. the Macbook gives you everything the iPad has and MUCH more... it will stand the test of time (longer than the iPad anyway) and works just as good at home, while gigging, on a bus, train, or plane... if you can afford to pay for less limitations... i'd highly recommend doing so.
don't listen to me though. i use Windows.

What would you choose?
but generally..I wouldn't get an OP1..
I would get an Elektron..or Dave Smith.. or a moog
or a really good mic/preamp/compressor/laptop
