I'm putting the odd sheckle aside to buy an iPad one day, but I'm waiting until midi/osc/audio fluidly and natively travel across a wired (digital i.e usb) connection before I buy it.

But as I understand it, the moog synth is only $1 for 30 days. So can I setup an account and buy it now, even though I don't have an iPad ?

Pretty sure all you need is iTunes and an iTunes account.

Dont think you can access the app unless you have the device registered with itunes. Once device is registered then the device does not have to be connected - ie you can buy it using you PC/mac itunes and sync to device later.

i don't have an ipad either but bought the app last week, same reason; figured i'd get one at some point.
i have an iphone though, so dunno if it would work without any device registered. doubt it, though;
apple aren't going to stop people downloading apps for devices they don't even own.

it's kinda sad that something with as short of a life span could already be... well you know....

imagine how pissed that Chinese kid (who sold his kidney to get one) was the first time he realized the next gen of apps are hit or miss on his old tech.

Yeah, I was the same when I met somebody who worked at Microsoft. I was like OMG give me Windows phone!!!!!!!!!

My motives are less about giving me products and more about hooking me up with HR.

But as Apple just announced they have something like 66,000 employees and growing and even discouting the large amount of those employees that are retail, it's still pretty hard to throw a rock and not hit an Apple employee around here.

And there better be a crack team of no less than 20 people right now analyzing the collective recordngs of Steve’s voice and then replicating it for the default voice of Siri 2.0 on the iPhone 5.
