migrating win7 to a SDD drive - reautorize live?

Post by störgeräusche » Mon Oct 31, 2011 8:47 pm

does someone migrated OS from a "classic" harddisk to a SDD Drive?

I'm thinking about upgrading to SDD for faster AND quieter operation, i wonder if someone did the same already and had to reauthorize live or not.
i would avoid do make a fresh re-install, just migrate OS form old drive to new ssd.

thanks

Hello,
I tried to do this a couple of months ago but couldn't get it to transfer over. Didn't put that much effort into it really though, just using windows backup and restore utility.
I did have a thread with some good replies and advice in it. On my phone so can't be bothered finding it, but you can use the search if you like.
Went for clean install because was wasting more time messing about than the clean install took.
Don't worry about having to re-authorise, speak to Ableton they will sort you out.
Cheers,
Dean

thanks dean
i'll search the forum.
in fact i don't really worry about reauthorizing, i never had problem with ableton sending me extra unlocks -i just hate reinstall eeerything but it looks like it will be the only reasonable way.
