setting default audio device on my PC
setting default audio device on my PC
I used to have my M-Audio Fast Track Pro set as the default audio device on my PC. So if I wanted to listen to a youtube video in between my ableton working sessions I could do that. But Ableton is not allowing me to do that and I'm forced to select my PC's audio device as default so that Ableton can use the fast track pro. Is this normal? Because it's kind of annoying to have to switch back and forth between devices (even if I shut down Ableton before I surf the web). Why can't my fast track pro be the only default I use?

How do you mean? How is ableton preventing you?joot29 wrote:Ableton is not allowing me to do that
What driver are you using in Ableton? Asio or Asio4all?
Do you have ableton running at the same time when you try this?
Re: setting default audio device on my PC
Are you keeping Ableton open while you try to watch the youtube videos?
If that's the case then I don't think it's strange.
Do you have a regular, builting soundcard on your PC? If you do you could just set that one as default - Ableton will use the one you selected in its options (the fast track).
