Anyone have experience with akai support
So I'm sending my APC40 in for repairs.
Has anyone else dealt with AKAI for warranty covered work? Care to share your experience?
Will I get it back before Live 9 is released??

picture if you will a dialogue box opening after you click on the subject line of your thread and streaming down both the left and right side of your thread is nothing but a series of the letters 'H' and 'A' in conjunction with each other side by side sprawled across your screen, over and over and over again, almost uncontrollably so and when and if you can grasp this vision with your imagination clearly then you will be that much closer to the most accurate answer one could give you regarding your question......unfortunately.
Re: Anyone have experience with akai support
My most notable experience with Akai support was when my MPD32 stopped responding in the middle of a firmware upgrade, and after some time I was directed to the Vyzex forum by Akai, because Vysex wrote the sysex app that ships with the MPD and I've never used because I'm not using Windows.
So I create an account on this forum, start searching for info, can't turn up what I'm looking for, and find that I'm supposed to send a PM to a mod who's fielding every single support request (again, this guy is not an Akai employee), with info about my device, computer, OS version, and so forth. I send the PM and don't receive a response. Then I did end up finding, buried on that forum, the information I needed: OS X 10.6 and 10.7 don't send sysex messages in a way that the MPD can understand, I needed to use a Mac running 10.5 or a PC. Later, when I heard back from the mod, after I'd already resolved the issue on my own, I received confirmation that Akai is absolutely aware of the issue. The whole fucking process started on Akai's website. If they had written a single fucking line of text along the lines of "Don't attempt firmware upgrades on Snow Leopard," I wouldn't have. Instead I got sent on a three day goose chase.
This was one of my last experiences with my MPD before I bought a Maschine, put the MPD back in its box, and sold it.

***UPDATE***
Got my APC40 back today.
Akai was kind enough to return it even more broken than when I sent it off for repair.
What a fucking joke.

i didn't respond to the this thread originally because i have responded to so many of these, but akai is known for having the worst support out of all the major pro audio company's.

Re: Anyone have experience with akai support
what's weird is that even though I guess numark got a hold of them they still suck. I don't know if it's a testament to how much they suck or to how brilliant they are that there products are completely existing out in the world alone without them, dependent on people like jj ....it's like they said customer service ahh we can cut that.
