USB MIC on MACBOOK + M-AUDIO AUDIOPHILE = will it work?

hi there, newbie question here, hope you be kind

i have Live 8 on a Macbook + M-Audio Fireware Audiophile.

do you think I can send the outs from Ableton to a fireware M-Audio while getting the ins from a USB mic? is that possible? if so, can you suggest me a mic? i don't need anything special, music should be playing too while speaking...

it works for me, I used to route the audio outs to FA101 and Mic in from Apogee Duet and they work fine

should work perfectly fine. At home I often use the motu ultralite as input while the built in soundcard as output, never had issues with that.
