Trouble migrating data from MacBook to MacBook Pro

I just got a MacBook Pro 15''. While setting it up, I choose to transfer everything from my old MacBook. Everything goes smoothly, but then the process stalls with around 40 minutes left (tried 3-4 times already). What can be wrong?

Not sure what it could be, sorry. You probably need to call Apple Care, they're really good about this stuff.

Try backing the MB up to an external hard disk using using Time Machine, then use Time Machine to update the new MBP.

1. Did you check your old MacBook (source) HD with Disk Utility (permissions too)?

2. Did this happen with Setup Assistant (on first boot of new machine)?
