Help with recording multiple tracks with Global Record???

Post by ihagarty » Thu Nov 10, 2011 10:40 pm

Hi,

I'm sure there is a simple solution or I am doing something absolutely wrong.

I am trying to record multiple tracks (ie-different parts...drums and then synths and then bass, etc.) in arrangement view at different times, but whenever I put on the 'global record' in arrangement view, it completely erases the track that I have already recorded.

What I want to be able to do is record my drum part on the fly in arrangement view, then automate it, etc. THEN go back to the beginning and record a new instrument like keys in response to what I've already recorded. Does this make sense?

Please help.....

Thanks

global is for recording into both arrangement and session views at the same time...

sounds like you just need to arm one track at a time and rec away...

Enable overdub (OVR) next to the main record button.
