VSTs inactive when project is opened on another computer!

Post by tbcam88 » Sun Nov 13, 2011 8:24 pm

Hi,

After spending a few days in a friend's studio doing tutorials, I have taken home a copy of the project to work on what I have learned. However, when I open the Live Set at home, any channel that was originally running a VST no longer has this in place and I have to manually re-open the VST in question for each channel in order to get the sound working again.

This is quite frustrating as there are a considerable amount throughout the project. Am I missing something here? Shouldn't Ableton remember which plug-in was running on each channel and load them straight into the project as required?

Cheers,

Brian

Hmm...

Is there no way to combat this then other than reload every plug-in separately?

Also, most of the channels in question are using the same plug-in (Nexus). Are you aware of any way in which I can open said plug-in and apply it to all of those channels at once? Or does Nexus have to be opened time after time and loaded individually to each channel. Reason being, after I have opened say, ten instances or so, the computers RAM is pushed to the maximum. I thought maybe I was following this procedure incorrectly and that there may be a we in which one instance of the plug-in can be applied to multiple channels.

Many thanks in advance.

I guess if you do it manually one time and then save the project on your computer, the next time you load it it will be ok.

I guess there is no solution to loading 10 instances of a VST in one click.
