Look to the bottom right... you see the rounding? And look at the faders, the green is raised, and right by the Allen and Heath logo there's a big shadow as well.

Again, I think we'd all understand a lot more about it when the official info is released... I suspect the functionality is pretty awesome...

A&H showed a demo model: a dummy. Proof of concept, so to speak. The finished conroller might look completely different.

if you go to the Gearjunkies article and scroll down, you'll see links to 3 large pictures of the 3D. its pretty obvious these are overlays.

i'm very excited to get more information on these since i had been thinking of buying a Xone:92 for quite some time now.

id love a truly integrated live controller for djing, with soundcard, midi,
firewire, and maybe portable if possible with a couple of extra inputs and
outputs.
Would that be anything like a combination printer, fax, scanner, photo
copier..... Where when the drivers die for the print u'r left with a scanner,
and when the scanner messes up u'r left with a printer?

In my experience, buying combo gear is a mistake. Buy the best you can
from different brands in each area rather than buying a jack-of-all-trades,
master-of-none, with multiple fail-points which will turn it into an
expensive door-stop.

who cares. its an expensive paperweight. i'm suprised that ableton havent joined forces with any manufacturers to design a controller. half the stuff either on the market or coming out looks like it been designed by people from another planet - do these people even use ableton???

okay the CTRL92 looked to business but i would pay over one and a half grand for it. if you did would you take it out of the house?? not fucking likely - not where i live.

pretty much spot on with that.

the only way these controller/mixers are gonna be any use is if they are *the* mixer that all clubs have. which is pretty unlikely to happen.

there's a massive gap in the market for a decent controller if you ask me

preach brother preach.

i can believe whats being designed at the moment. thats why i started the poll on the back of this thread. a decent controller wouldnt be that expensive. firewire based midi controller with audio ins and outs for the house mix and/or effects loop. all down one cable. job done. less than 500 quid no problem.
