P.S I love Ozone
I've been trying out the demo as well, though I haven't tried Ozone 4 and can't provide any comparisons with it.
Which bit is the 3D GUI you mention?
There's a 3D waterfall style spectral visualizer in the "Bridge Meter" ... is that what you don't like?
Can you describe what sounds different about the exciter that you don't like?
Here is the comparsion

Clean - Ozone 4 - Ozone 5 (same settings)
i think no comments needed
Thanks, Ilya. The degree of difference is surprising given the same settings - I can understand your displeasure now.
I wonder what iZotope's explanation is.
Since I'm not an Ozone 4 owner and have no parameter settings to copy forward to Ozone 5, I wonder how much it matters for me.

Awesome.
Haven't had a chance to mess with it too much, but I like the interface updates. Feels less Matrix-y.
Based on the upgrade list alone I don't think I would have paid for it, but I'm definitely glad to have it.
How long ago had you purchased Ozone 4? I recently purchased it as well, and I'm wondering if I qualify for the upgrade.

Some forums are so entertaining; full of half baked opinions and ideas (including my own)!
Carey
Don't be shy now. You should share more of these half baked opinions in the lounge

to the guys who master other peoples material for a living, how often would you need to apply reverb in mastering?
i've always thought the concept of a mastering reverb to be a bit of a joke, but then i rarely master other peoples work. i cant imagine applying reverb to my own work whilst mastering

btw, takerith thank you so much for your mastering guide. for the longest time i couldn't figure out what the big deal with mastering was.. well as far as most of the mastering suites went. I always though to myself what's the difference between using the tools in a mastering suite vs. mixing. I understand now that those tools are made more for when you're only stuck with a single stereo file instead of all the stems.
thanks again.

Hmm... purchased in July for me, so I'll be waiting patiently for my upgrade email.
