Hi, Sorry for the long title but I'm still somewhat new to Live and am trying to integrate it into a pretty complicated setup.
First question first, Is there a way to set up a playlist/file chain so that once I load the first live set and it finishes playing, it will automatically load the next live set and start playing?
Here's the situation. I want Live to be my master controller. For most songs I won't even really have any recorded material or midi notes. I have a MIDI setup with 5 external HW synths and 1 internal VST/AU. I am using live to open up the appropriate AU plugin and sent the appropriate patch changes to my external gear for each song. I also want live to be the master clock, setting the BPM for each song. Both my synths and the drummer's click will be slaved to Live. I want to start the first song in live and let it rip so that when that song is over, the next song will load, the external gear will be at the right BPM and the patches will be automatically brought up.
I've figured out how to sync the clocks and change the patches. But now my second question is:
Can live send clock sync and midi patch changes at the load of the song vs. having to actually start the song?
Again, I probably won't have any patterns or sequence playing since I'm trying to play as much live as possible. I've been able to figure out how to create a pattern for each midi device and set the correct patch to be sent. The issue I'm having is that #1, the external clocks don't sync to the new BPM until a pattern is started, and #2, the patch changes aren't sent until the appropriate pattern is started.
I've used other programs that send clock and patch changes at load time, instead of after you hit the play button. Is there such a feature with Live?
I am also going to be purchasing MAX tomorrow. So if there are any tools there that might help feel free to mention them.
