Fx Chain Hiss

Hi Guys,
I have 2 Fx chain tracks set up in ableton with dummy clips loaded in to them.. The "dry" dummy clips are introducing a lot of high end hiss in to the mix.. I tried eq to get rid of it, but I have to take too much high end away to clear it, and I also tried a gate but no matter how I set the threshold it just kills whatever signal is going through it so it's inaudible... Any suggestions how I might solve this problem???

what do you mean by "dry dummy clips".. (dummy clips are supposed to be empty except for automation no?)

my first suggestion for a fix is to better explain the "problem" so other people can understand it...

well... think what's feeding in to the 'dry' chain when you trigger the clip..
if you've done this tuto..
then I guess there's a track feeding in to the fx track..
that's the source of the hiss..
now.. I don't know what you have on that track.. but you should handle it there..
(in the playing track ..not the fx track)

another reason that could cause this(especially since you say the gate isn't working right) comes to mind..
that the 'dry' dummy clip.. isn't set to 0 (either in the clip envelopes or in the chain-selector)

Each FX Chain track is being fed a signal from a single track (ie. VOX to FX CHAIN 1, and DRMS to FX CHAIN 2) So when I changed the input of these tracks from EXT IN to VOX and DRMS respectively this git rid of the hiss..
