Help Needed: Drum Rack doesn't respond to changing velocity?

Post by blue frog beats » Wed Nov 16, 2011 10:41 pm

Hey guys, i have chopped up some drum beats (vengaence, machine samples, battery samples, etc..) and put the individual hits onto the drum racks slots. The problem I am having is that when i change the midi velocity that triggers the samples, it still hits at the same level every time. Even at 127 it hits the exact same as 0. Can someone please tell me what im doing wrong?

Inside the sample in the drum rack, expand it so you see the simpler. Their is a velocity parameter on the right side. It's your friend.

The drum rack has a "simpler" device for each drum hit and you need tell simpler that it should respond to velocity because by default its response is set to 0%.

The velocity button in simpler is on the right hand sid,e almost at the bottom, just above "voices" and below "LFO". I think you have to go into each drum hit individually and set the velocity in the sampler device, but some Ableton wizard may know how to select all of them at one time.

You may need to click on a button to reveal the simpler device. The button is on the left hand side of the drum rack. There are two groups of buttons on that side. The button you need is the bottom one in the group at the top.
