hi there,
been using Ableton for audio for a while but never ventured into the world of realtime visuals and wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction.
what i want to do is trigger some simple visuals from ableton. imagine a 4x4 grid, each square assigned to a midi note trigerable from clips in session view. by default the squares are black. when triggered they flash white, or any shade of grey in between depending on velocity/decay etc.
i'd also like to be able to export the visuals as an image sequence.
I guess i'm imagining some kind of VST plugin that does visuals ... any ideas?
thanks alot,
BT.

Re: AV help

Re: AV help
nice! thanks guys. i'd seen the Vizzable stuff and thought that might be along the right lines.
i have no knowledge of either Max or Jitter, but sounds like its time to acquire some.
will get stuck in.

Try JAM2 available at http://www.facebook.com/justaddmusicmedia in the free downloads section. You can customize the screen composition and effects like 'flast white' in the applications resource folder via Quartz Composer (a simple graphics development language built by apple).
JAM2 include a dynamic Grid composition already though see this video http://vimeo.com/31965853
