Drum Rack tracks visible as individual tracks in Arrangement

Post by LithiuMind » Mon Nov 21, 2011 3:27 pm

Right now you can expand the Drum Rack in the mixer section of the session view, but it would be awesome to be able to view them as individual lanes in Arrangement view! I was super excited about Drum Racks when it first came out, and still use it, but I refrain from using a single "drum rack" for all of my drums because I like to be able to view individual blocks in the arrangment as a visual cue to "hihats come in here" or "percussion variation happens here".

This would make my dream of a master drum rack with macros come true.

One could have multiple drum racks in a "track group" together...but then you wouldn't be able to have a master macro control to control all of the internal elements.

I agree with you here on this one.. I'd also like to see the ability to expand the drum rack in the arrangement view just as you can in the session view. I'm more wanting to use it for volume and effects automation... and we do have the ability to select from the drop down automation lane menu... which provides individual automation control for mixer and effects on each pad and sends. Then by pressing the plus sign we can create individual automation lanes.... but this is tedious work and definitely would be better just to click and expand the tracks then go into those tracks and set automation there...plus wed have the ability to drag and drop effects right in the arrangement view as well!
