The OP's link wasn't horrible, the replied links were pretty bad though (except for Slayer). I guess my age is showing or perhaps I'm not young and angry anymore.

If I had to add to this, suggestion wise, I'd add:

http://youtu.be/cFzQX2i6mwo

http://youtu.be/f0pdwd0miqs

http://youtu.be/V-zqIS7vWbY (I was there)

And I could add hundreds more, but I won't. Its all subjective.

Rock'n'roll has been pronounced dead so many times...

However we cannot have a thread like this without the basics:

I fooqing love that video.

the new Jane's Addiction album has been in constant rotation for me, albeit one of the two CDs is live versions of the early albums.

Shame on you Sleepy Dinosaur for putting U2 and the Deftones??? on a somewhat decent list.

The only thing dead in this thread is good taste.

However I will say, many years ago there was a club in Ft Worth TX called Joe's Garage, when Slayer came there to play they were touring in a Camaro with a trailer hitched to it. They pulled up, dropped off the trailer and peeled out. Thats pretty fuckin rock and roll if you ask me, but what do I know I just bought Fu Manchu "In Search of" on vinyl.

that's a hard question since they are too aggressive for my taste i consider it bad art.
but also i consider their sound to be very dated. maybe if i was more sentimental i could listen to them knowing they are classic metal, but im not.
out of all the genras of older music old metal is the one i can tolerate the least. i listen to it and im immediately taken back to memory's of people who used to like this stuff in my teens. i dont really want to think of them people.

 well, I'm old what can I say

As for Mr. Swedish Douchebag (goddard), don't you have to be 13 to be a member? And let me apologize for everyone in here for not recognizing Sweden's long history of Rock'n Roll contributions.

Thats a shit excuse, I'm 37, so like you I have witnessed the U2 downfall that has made any of their previous music equally rotten. As for the Deftones...I wouldn't say age plays a factor, thats something completely different. I'm gonna let you slide that much because you posted JMC, and those guys are definitely rock N roll, but dont let it happen again.
