can I change automation curve with midi note on message?

I am wanting to change the value of the an automation curve with the press of a midi keyboard note. IE: press C3, and the automation curve goes to 50, press C#3, and it goes to 60, etc...

The point is that I am wanting to control the LFO rate in Reason with the press of keyboard...

I'm going to just keep commenting here with the hopes that someone will come along that has figured this out.

I tried to do this with my padKontrol.

I assigned several pads to the same CC#26 and gave each pad a specific velocity for the specific LFO speed. Then while looping the synth line, I can change the LFO automation in the fly, but frustratingly for some reason when I push the pad, ableton erases all the upcoming breakpoints in the loop?!?
