peak level readout/peak level display/metering

Post by Sin:Aesthetic » Thu May 19, 2005 1:54 pm

in programs like pro tools, on the mixer, just underneath where all the levels are, there is a digital peak level readout/meter.....this would be very helpful for mastering, and i would think a very important thing to include with the next ableton

Yes, I miss this very much. I use this function a lot in the Cubase mixer. In Ableton it's a bit of trial and error now getting the levels right of different tracks and songs. Please implement this in Live 5.

It would also be nice to get a control+ mouseklick to set the level to 0 db again. As it is now, it never works with the mouse: I always get either -0.34 or 0.06 db.
Please, please, please... :)

to get it back to 0, just hit the fader and then backspace or del...

I second the wish for a readout of the peak level.

And I don't wanna be greedy  , but please put this on the list too:
- easier making values in the fader with mouse or typing
- better goup behaviour when soloing
