How to mashup a live recorded loop on the fly?

Post by RSinier » Wed Nov 30, 2011 5:59 pm

So.
What I would like to do is to record my voice, for example, and be able to mash it up on the fly, I mean without copying clips and assigning stuff manually.
Something perfect would be a different version of Ableton's looper, with the ability to launch the looped clip at different starting points, with pads or keys.
Exactly like recording a 1 bar clip, slice it into 8 or 16 parts and assigning pads on every one, but on the fly (ultimately, for live gigs).
Am I clear?

Any thoughts?
(without Max or Reaktor).
Thanks.

You can try the instantsampler in combination with the arpeggiator

Just set your arpeggiator to the appropriate quantization, 100% notelength, etc, and have the ability to switch it off when you want to freeball it

could just slice to midi with a preset you have made, or just transients, or 1/8th notes or something and some midiclips youve premade in place to mix it tup...

though on the fly the more you prep for it the better it'll sound imo
