I am not arguing against this feature, but I bet that you will not see it in live.supster wrote: The people that are actively arguing against this ... er .. scuse me but

Just like all the reason users on reason boards that begged and screamed for audio recording capabilites in reason for the last 3 years, it just isn't the direction they are heading with the software.
I dare any of you "dj's" that must have this feature to be able to use live in a live setting, to email ableton asking why this is not included and if they reply post your email and their reply on this very thread. I think you will find that they might suggest that if you want a mp3 dj app with realtime tempo control for each "virtual deck" that you should look elsewhere.
Live is a new tool and a new approach that is ushering in a new way to compose/improv/manipulate/play music in a live setting (it is not merely a virtual dj program).
If you have to live in the past, have fun, but I would think that any creative dj would have found a way by now to dig into what live can do and the flexibility it gives you with routing possibilites and would be working on a new way of approaching their sets that use live as the center and incorporate a table or two into live in real time.
But I am a complete lunatic right? I am just making all this up and acting like I know where ableton is heading with their software based on nothing ... wait a minute I swear the text on my box live 4 came in says "Real-Time Music Production for Mac OS and Windows"
Maybe you are looking for Traktor DJ that is the box that says "The New Face of DJ-Mixing"
