I guess that's a kind of "didn't you figure that out already" kind of hint?

Nema problema.
Only problem is I can't afford Reaktor.
And I'm twisted wether I should get into that kind of thing or keeping me head above the surface...

it's worth the price. since i bought it with live in the same time, i havn't buy anything else cause i can do everything i want to with those 2 apps.
and about the question "digging into it or not", it's not really a problem : reaktor's a bit hard to understand if you want to build instruments. but you can also use it as it comes, with the NI ensembles or those from the user library...

It's supposed to be a mildly amusing way of saying "Sure it can".

If I was in my bad mood, I'd've posted this:

... but I didn't :)

I'm in two minds about Reaktor personally. It's a great and highly flexible box of tools (if you're only going to buy one piece of software ever again, i'd say get Reaktor) but the interface (click... drag...) is stupid. Building anything bigger than a simply one oscillator synth is an unforgivingly repetitive and tedious task in my experience..!

It's nowhere near as difficult as it looks, it's just parts of the design of it that's a bit stupid. Be prepared to learn, though, and be prepared to spend time on learning.

This goes personal and off topic, but I'm afraid I will be dwelling inside Reaktor as maybe an escape from other things in life...
I'm sure you are right.
And, honestly, it scares me to know the possibilities are there and they are dragging me in.
I've just gotten some money from selling an appartement and I'm basicly tremling with yes/no's about spending some of them on these kinds of apps.
Perhaps I should just chill out and see how things come along.

hey conny at least you should try the reaktor 4 demo, because you'll get the gist of what r5 is all about. you may find interest in ensembles that use the grain cloud, such as grainstates. just try it out you'll be impressed

lol i hope i don't break everyone's bank....ive broke mine enough i hope its not contagious

--- i find the funniest part of me buying reaktor and the traveler in one shot was that my bank raised my credit limit after i did to 5700$$.....damn its like they wanted me to buy more stuff....shite!!

1. I can use reaktor with live now!
out of interest (not having used live with reaktor yet).. was there something about reaktor 4 that made it difficult to work with in live? and how has this been corrected with r5?

thanks

it was impossible to work together because reaktor would crash live. it would open, but there was always a knob or slider or something that if touched, it would destroy everything. the problem was, i never knew which knob it would be. i found that if i hit the down key, it would also crash live. everytime. trust me i tried everything to fix that but the only solution was updating to the more stable R5. it seems w/ r5 they fixed things and it works to my acceptance.

Upgraded from RS to R5 and got my package last week. All I can say is WOW. I've hardly opened another plugin since it arrived. This is truly an amazing product. I'm still drooling over the presets (especially the subharmonizer and the steam pipe 2...not to mention the generators...). Incredible stuff.

that's kind of strange, i've never had this kind of issue ! i think this could be an event loop processing problem. if so, it comes from the ensemble itself (have you checked this ensemble in standalone ? cause this kind of problem appears independantly of VST or standalone).
