I've built a drum kit using my own multi-sampled sounds. I did this by creating sampler instruments of each drum which I then dropped in to a drum rack and then further tweaked.
My question is, how do I now send this kit to my writing partner so he can load the same kit into any Ableton project. I've tried saving the drum rack obviously and then sending him the .adg file and the .adv files for each sampler patch that I loaded on to the drum rack pads. I also included the wav files in a separate folder but this does not work.
Obviously I'm missing an essential part of the process.
Where am I going wrong?
Thanks in advance
Exporting and sharing my own drum kits
Re: Exporting and sharing my own drum kits
If not concerned with commercial release of kits, just do the following -
Create a Set with the Kit on a Track. Collect All and Save. Zip the Project Folder and email it.
If you need to save more space, create a Live Pack that uses lossless compression - File, Manage Files, Manage Project, Create Live Pack.
When he gets the files, unzip, etc, then from any file browser in Live find the .als you sent him, and he can drag the file into the Track Title Bar to import the kit.
Cheers,
Brian
