exact midi position

I cannot find the exact properties of a midi event, e.g. a midi-note, means position, length et cetera as you can see it e.g. in cubase i.e. that I can also see the exact position / length in ticks and not just "note selection time 1.1.4+" for instance ... any help would be highly appreciated.

ok, after more than a year I would like to renew my question ... btw: the reason why I want to know the exact position of midi-notes is that I then could calculate the exact delay in ms of a track (as I do it in cubase). i.e. I play some parts on a midi keyboard to a given drum track for instance. normally the midi notes are slightly before or behind the measure/bar and ticks plus bpm gives me exact delay in milliseconds (for the track as a whole). yeah, any help how to find out the exact position of midi-notes really would be fine ...
