Alright, so I have installed Soundflower and activated a new IAC driver as you can see:
As far as I understand we want Live to send MIDI messages to Mainstage, then Mainstage to convert those messages to audio which will be sent back to Live via Soundflower and finally we want Live to send that audio to the monitors. This is why I selected these inputs and outputs below:
On the external instrument panel how am I going to select 'audio from'? In his case it's 13/14 but I don't see anything like that.. I have to click 'configure' which gets me to Live's audio preferences again:
What am I doing wrong? Sorry for all the screens
