Midi problems with MPK49 and Live8

Hi guys. I've been having some midi problems with my MPK49 and live8. Whenever I try to send midi from Ableton through the MPK and to any hardware synth, when I press play the settings on the synth change. Any ideas what the issue may be?

Ensure that your input/output settings are all correct under Lives Preferences, Sync tab. This controls a lot of the midi and audio routing.
