Guitar Sounds Suddendly Degrades/Distorts

I am having a problem which happens when using Live, in that on playing my guitar, via an IK Multimedia Stealth Plug, through Ableton the output is fine, but consistently after playing for a while the guitar sound suddenly degrades and distorts really badly. Once this happens I am forced to exit and re-open Live.

The IK Stealth Plug works fine, as does my Amplitube on it's own, both have the latest drivers and versions. I had even sent it back for tsting and there is no reported problem with it.

My laptop is also running fine and has the following:

Intel R Core TM Duo CPU
T5800 @ 2.00 GHz
3 GBRam
Vista 32 Bit
With 178 GB of free hard Disk

I am baffled why this keeps happening, Any advice welcome.

I think you have all the info, except the useful info

- Ableton version
- amplitube version

What if you ditch the amplitube plugin and try with another (Ableton amp if you have it) just as a test.?

How long does it take before the sound distorts? If it does and you remove the plugin from the chain does it work again?

The drivers/version for both are up-to-date, alongwith the Stealth Plug.

It varies, sometimes I can play/record without any problem, then out-the-blue it will suddenly my guitar sounds really distorted and broken.

Tends to stay like that, only way I can restore the sound/signal is to close/open Ableton.

I only have Amplitube/Stealth Plug (both are absolutely fine in stand alone mode, as is Live Lite, this occasional irritant only surfaces when combined
