Multiple Banks of APC40 Encoders... Some Don't Update

Hello, I'm sure this is a simple question...

I've assigned the track control knobs on my APC40 while "pan" is highlighted to the macro knobs of a custom 4 band EQ. the 4 on the top correspond to "deck A" and the 4 on the bottom to "deck B". I've then mapped the same knobs to different functions while "send A" is highlighted. Ideally they'd function like individual banks of encoders. However, when I switch from "pan" to "send" on the controller, the knobs do not update the position currently in the set. They reset to the lowest or highest values. I have "remote" enabled on both the input and output of the MIDI controller... what am I doing wrong?
