HOOKING UP SP 303 TO LAPTOP

Post by jorelpri » Sun Dec 18, 2011 6:55 am

WHEN I PLUG IN MY 303 TO MY LAPTOP WITH THE RCA CABLE I CANT GET ANY SOUND TO COME OUT. DOES MY COMPUTER NOTIFY ME SAYING THAT A DEVICE IS PLUGGED IN. HOW DO I GET ABLETON TO RECOGNIZE THE 303?

Would you not be best off using a dedicated audio/midi interface?

As far as I know the SP 303 does not have a USB output, so your computer will not inform you that a new device has been plugged in.

DOES YOUR 303 COME WITH A MANUAL?

HAVE YOU ENABLED INPUTS OR CHANGED YOUR ROUTINGS SO LIVE CAN HEAR YOUR 303?

Yes.. as the other reply pointed out, your computer will not say anything about it connecting, as it's not a usb device, and you are using rca cables.

If you don't know what I mean by changing your input, I suggest you give the Live manual a peek - specifically chapter 13, and 15 would probably be helpful too. That will help clear up some terminology and give you a better understanding of inputs and routing to hear your audio in Live.
