I'm afraid that once Xmas is over, the old iPad will be devaluated almost as much as the Greek economy.

Apple is an odd duck when it comes retained value and usability in technology. The refurb store is often the first/only stop for some people who don’t have any issues being a generation behind at all times if it saves some scratch.

ok lets get serious here, for a moment, I mean deadly serious, as in the feds are watching serious, for example MadMax serious, or mel gibsons a serious bigot whichever is more serious for you, or I just saw Louis Farakahn at a Dennys sitting way in the back corner with a fine ass whitegirl sharing one rootbeer float with two straws.................."no way are you fuckin serious?" type serious!!!!

how long is too long to wait to get an ipad2 because 3 is at the door, like what's the cut off point in apple time, is everyone buying a new ipad2 for a christmas gift gonna be assed out because right after christmas the ipad 3 is coming out or will the ipad 3 roll around and your ipad 2 gift will still seem legitimate.
see I want to get myself an ipad2 for christmas but I don't want to turn around and be pissed at myself when the ipad3 rolls out. :(

No one knows when the iPad3 is coming out, so it's hard to say. Could be this spring, could be next fall, could be next year. It's like anything Apple makes, you can't play the waiting game, get it when you want it, and be happy with it still when a new model comes out (and they always do).

I don’t expect Apple to drop anything in the iPad 3 that would make somebody regret buying an iPad 2 right now. So far the only rumors seem to be a retina display.

Most people can skip a generation of anything Apple releases without experiencing regret.

Even uber fanboy LSZ was fine with his iPhone 1 until about 2 weeks ago. :x

RIM now worth less than Apple's App Store alone

I just watched a documentary about the situation in Darfur and it was more upbeat than what's going on at RIM. :x

iTunes Match, anyone? Not quite sure what to think yet. It's replaced some of my crappy quality Bowie stuff with proper versions, which tbh I would have paid a couple of quid for in itself. However I will admit, immediately after I switched it on I felt something like this:

The jury's still out though. Either this thing will ruin or revolutionise my i-Music experience.

It might be a nice way of getting around the old problem of having too many tracks and not enough space to store them. I've already identified a few tracks which I should have (and am now able to) put on my device. I can't explain why I didn't just sync these using playlists, but the fact that I'm now noticing them is interesting to me.

One thing: it seems that simply previewing a track immediately downloads it to your device, which is not cool and means I've about 12 hours before I run out of space.

I've been using MobileMe since it was .Mac and I am clinging to it like a dying spouse. The thing I'm hating the most is that so far they don't seem to be offering an alternative for people who have used their MobileMe space to host websites, so I'll have to find another hosting option unless they do add that service into iCloud.

MobileMe will be active until sometime next summer, but I'm still not totally clear on what exactly I would lose/retain/gain by switching right now as opposed to waiting until the last possible second.
