record guitar mono or dual-mono - Amplitube

Post by rdevries » Fri Nov 25, 2011 2:12 pm

I'm always recording my electric guitar via 1/2 input coming from my Toneport (instead of just monoinput1 or monoinput2), thereby creating a dual monotrack.
Are there any (dis-)advantages to this? i.e. will stereoeffects from Amplitube sound different when applied to a dualmono-guitartrack as compared to a mono-guitartrack? Or does it make no difference at all?
I also don't see why setting the input in AmplitubeVST to stereo should sound different from the mono-setting when a dual-mono guitartrack is fed into a dual-amp preset, but it does sound more spacious.
After all a mono-guitartrack would be fed into both chains????

Good question.
I'd say it exactly the same. I don't see a reason for amplitube to handle a stereo input.
