how do I set up Aftertouch to control vibrato?
I'm trying to set up aftertouch or channel pressure to control vibrato in a session. can anyone point me in the right direction as to how to do this?
Re: how do I set up Aftertouch to control vibrato?
It depends on the instrument as to how those MIDI messages are received. The Device/VST has to be able to know what to do with them - e.g., Sampler's MIDI Tab, Operator's Globals section, Mod Matrix of 3rd party synth.
There are likely Max For Live patches that can convert those messages to control other devices too.
Cheers,
Brian

Re: how do I set up Aftertouch to control vibrato?
Hey Invol, I'm trying to control vibrato in analog. I am using an axiom pro 61 and I can map the control wheel to vibrato but can't figure out how to map the afertouch. Can't seem to get an answer from tech support on how to do this either. any ideas would be appreciated as I'm coming up with nothing and I need this feature for my performances.
Thanks
Thanks

For the Vibrato there is a Amt<MW parameter in the display when you click on the Globals section, so you don't have to MIDI map the Mod Wheel to the Vibrato % field. But, I don't think there is a direct way to map Aftertouch to parameters in Analog. AFAIK, it is a limitation of the device. If someone else can find it, I would like to know too. Collision, Operator, & Sampler have such options.
