VST Switching Presets at Random

Hey guys,

Not sure if this has been covered or not, but I'm having issues with some VSTs switching between presets at random. I'll build a sound off of a preset, and after a random amount of time, the VST will switch to a different preset (always reverting back to the same one). This has happened in both Slyenth1 and Gladiator2 on separate tracks at separate times. It's getting pretty frustrating, and only seems to be happening in this one song I'm working on. Any ideas of what could be going on?

I'm going to guess that maybe you have some control change messages in your midi clips. I used to get this importing clips from other places. If you look at your midi clips info window, it should have two sections, "clip" and "notes". Under notes, there is "orig bpm" and below that "bank" "sub-bank" and "program". All of 3 of those ("bank" "sub-bank" and "program") should be set to "none" if any of them have a number in them, this is likely the cause of the preset switching.

Right on, thanks man. Yea, I had imported some MIDI files, and found copying the notes to a new clip helped resolve the issue. I'll look for that issue, as it sounds like the probable cause to the issue.

yeah, I guarantee you that's what happened, especially if you imported the clips. No need to copy the notes into new clips now though, as you can just switch those program change numbers to "none" and be done with it.
