Had a neat idea for performance element... but...
So going back from the live show to the DJ setup I was thinking of ways to make the dj performance... well more than just mixing.
SO I got it in my head I would figure out a way, to have a channel buffer in audio for a set time, then have a plugin of sorts that would slice the file for a performance setting.
Now why would I not just slice to midi for all of this?
Time, I want to be able to take any loop, from any song that Im doing and figure out a solution (Internal or external) to slice it as a midi device for MPC style drumming. Ive been on the search for a plug for quite some time and... I came up with bubkis.
Any thoughts forum?

I don't understand, it seems that you answered yourself to your question, but still wondering about it.... What's the problem ?

Re: Had a neat idea for performance element... but...
Im trying to do it with a buffer plug of some kind...
Buffer a loop
which is auto sliced by said vst
which then I can jam with a controller.

I like using http://www.muxer.nl/instant-sampler/ this. Triggering it with an arpeggiator (length set to 100%!). Then I can either leave Arp on. Use Run if I want, or turn it off and jam. Even set up clips that trigger pieces

Thats cool! But it has to load files into it... This is looking more and more like a MfL solution... fail.
Because Whatever.

Closest i've come so far... http://vimeo.com/16570233 the Clip Chopper is another solution but requires clips to be loaded into RAM, also CList's Beatlookup for Reaktor has a similar effect....

What do you mean load files? You use a midi channel that routes to the audio channel that contains the vst. Any time you hit a note, it keeps that moment of the curently playing audio in its buffer until you hit the 'clear all' note. While that audio is in there, it is as easy to retrigger as just tapping the same note again :)No loading required.
The reason I like to use the Arp in conjunction with it is to quantize the snippets that I capture. Otherwise it can get messy haha

Oh really... well Im haveing a bit of a hard time trying to get it to do anything... Any bit of doc lying around on the interntet?
Because Whatever.
Re: Had a neat idea for performance element... but...
Example:
Have audio track with clips loaded into it. Place vst on audio track.
Create midi track. Set monitoring to "in". Have keyboard or other instrument ready to play. Set output to the Audio Channel, and select the vst.
Play a music clip in audio channel.
Press a note on your keyboard. Remember what note you pressed.
Press the note again, and it should play what was playing when you first held down the note.
You can also stop the clip now, and still tap the note. The audio should play.
You can do this with several keys to sample different bits of things

Hey, the buffer shuffler in m4l seem to be a very good starting point. Add midi control on it, it seems doable....
If i have the time i'll try to see what i can do... but you'd allow me to use your idea !
