yea, great synth but also CPU killer Luckily there are "quality settings" (save some CPU but not so much ), so it's possile to set "draft" mode and then export track with full quality. Yes, of course we can freeze but freeze is quite often unavailale (ie. sidechaining).

So, great synth but to use it, I would actually have to buy new computer

Ok, I have quite a few synths already, too many really, not learned any of them properly. I do have ACE which I have tried to learn but somehow never really got there. Gonna have another go over the days I have off at Xmas. I am skint by the way, so buying Diva would be a bit tricky financially.

So, is there much point in me shelling out for it or should I just learn ACE and the other synths I have for now?

I loved the sound of Ace but much like you could not get around to learning it properly. Ended up selling it to help pay for Diva and have no regrets at all.

I would download the Diva demo and see how you get on. It's on sale until the end of the year.

I really liked DIVA..it sounds good.. but am def not over-hyped...
and really.. up to my neck in soft-synths..
so..might get it in the future..
when the going gets boring.. and the wallet gets fatter (at the current pace...not likely that's ever going to happen..)

And another confession… I haven't even reinstalled ACE since I wiped my computer (nor Alchemy, Tassman, Absynth, Ultra Analog, etc.…).

I decided to stick with Zebra as my sole 3rd party soft-synth.

Love the sound, but I'm lucky enough to own a few old poly analog synths, and poor enough to have a 4+ year old laptop that can barely handle Massive let alone Diva.
I agree though, best sounding analog filter emulation I've heard. Urs is also one of the most friendly and honest developers out there, so I don't mind spending the extra money on it in a year or so when I get a new laptop.

I never got on board with Ace, so, with the discount offer, and after playing with the demo, made sense for me.
I can't wait to really get into this cpu destroying monster.

Tried it out. Sounds fine, but with a 70% cpu hit on some settings I'm sticking with Zebra.

ACE and Diva are quite different. Not knowing what other synths you have, couldn't say about them. Diva has set a new standard for emulating some classic analog synths IMO (which you pay for in cpu). But some people don't care in the slightest about emulating analog ACE you have the various audio rate modulations and it has its own strengths.

Diva is a beautiful synth. It seems almost impossible to make it sound bad. The filters are fantastic and beautiful sounds just seem to flow from it without effort. You really gotta try the demo and see if it suits you.

i wasn't really impressed by diva so i ended up getting dcam synth squad. i do love zebra though, great synth.
