APC40 + Ableton Setup Help PLEASE!!!

Good Evening,

I hope all is well with you and yours!

I just recently purchased an Akai MPC 40 and am trying to program it to be used with version 8.2.7 of Live 8 Akai Professsional Edition.

While my computer does read the Akai MPC40 when it's attached to my USB port and plugged in (it's a Toshiba Windows 7 64-bit laptop with 4 gigs of RAM), the program won't recognize the midi controller at all, even after going though all of the steps to do so via the machine and software instructions.

I've set up APC40 as my Control Surface, Input and Output via the "Midi Sync" option, yet when I hit the buttons on the machine, the "Midi Track In" light doesn't come on.

PLEASE give any advice or help that you can - I've tried looking on numerous support boards for the APC40 to find a solution for this issue with no avail .

I really want to be able to use this equipment and Ableton software properly as soon as possible. Thank a lot and have a great day!

You want to set it up so remote is on, not midi sync....
