Question about Using the APC40

Hey, this is my first post.

I'm running Live 8.1.2 on OSX with an APC 40. I've been searching around but can't seem to find a good answer to this question.

I've been running into this problem a lot and I'm not sure if there's some easy way to fix it. Say I'm working with an effect on one track, if I launch a clip on a different track, then the effects plugins for that track pops up on the APC 40, so it's no longer controlling the original tracks effects and you have to switch back manually every time you drop a clip. Is there some way to disable this so that Live will not automatically change the track selection?

Preferences > Record Warp Launch > Select on Launch > Off
