Was it worse before you reinstalled your OS? Imo you just started from scratch so some things may need to get settled, you said it was temporary, right?
I dunno, just doesn't seem like a good example to rip on Ableton for that reason.

Why install the beta?so i just reinstalled my operating system, and directly after that i installed live. the current beta, then.
well, dropping a live device (native plugin), a thirdparty plugin takes 20-30 seconds, and during this time the ive window goes into a temporary (Not Responding) state.
good work ableton.
Obviously your computer is going through some major issues if you have to reinstall your OS, right?
Is that all Ableton's fault too?
Re: 8.2.7 is go......
Which OS would this be?
If OSX, did you wait until Spotlight finished making its database? You can tell if there's a dot in the search icon on the top right.
If Win, is there an equivalent indexing process?
If you did wait for the process to end, you now basically have a very clear crash pack hopefully.
If the only things on your computer are Live and Plugins and it happened immediately, there aren't a lot of variables for the developers to look at.

doesn't matter, installing the latest stable version.

well..
"working", then.

Do you have Automap installed?
Just noticed a report on the bug forum of Live instantly crashing, which was remedied by remapping the plugins in the Automap app. In this case it related to Omnisphere and Groove Agent.

Having some problems - can someone please try out something for me? On osx - if you have a set that uses a good amount of processing power - up to round 50-60%, load it up. Then change the sample rate. What happens to me - whether I boost the sample rate down OR up - live starts using far far more processing power. Meaning when I play the transport initially it can jump up to 110% and then 'rests' at a higher processor usage than the original.
Even if im going from 256 to 512 buffer samples. Giving me enormous crackles whenever I try play back. It stays that way while ableton is loaded - BUT THE KEY PART BEING - Its a totally different processor usage than if I change the sample rate and reload ableton. The weird peaks will be gone and usage is at a predictable level. When mixing/recording its so important to be able to switch back and forth between sample rates - lower to record a little - then back up to continue mixing and reactivate some plugs. Its really frustrating to have to reload the whole program - and on a big set with Kontakt instruments this can take 3mins. So to jump down, then back up can take 6.

Have you tried toggling PDC after you changed the buffer size?
I assume you meant buffer size, because why would you change the sample rate during a project?
When you sum it all up like you did, the problem seems very obvious. PDC is freaking out.
PDC isn't the best supported feature in Live. To give it a beating while its loading heavy stuff like Kontakt... Well it kinda makes sense its not chugging along nicely.
If toggling the PDC doesn't work. Try switching Audio Engine (drivers) briefly. I know there are some actions to recalculate the PDC without restarting, but I'm not 100% sure on how.
